The Tsolakides family has occupied the site since February 1967
firstly as the "Parthenon Cafe" and then , in 1982 , converted it to "Charlies Kebab House"

"Charlies " quickly gained a fantastic reputation for the quality of its home-made kebabs , and this was supplemented in 1989 with the addition of fish and chips , re-fitting the premises into its current guise of  "Sophies Choice ".

In 2007 the business gained the much coveted Seafish Quality Award , which recognises not only the excellence of the food but all aspects of health/hygiene and customer service.

In June 2006 Sophies expanded by acquiring "Pino Pizza " , an under-performing site opposite its premises.Utilising all their experience and good reputation gained over 40 years in the locality , they have improved the quality of the customer service and more importantly the food , while at the same time incorporated the delivery service to include Sophies Choice.
